Our story begins in a renovated 1910 warehouse that has become an integral part of the now burgeoning Pacific Northwest urban neighborhood, known as the Pearl District.

Established in 2003, Urban Grind Coffeehouse & Roasters created a unique niche, being renowned as the first artisan coffeehouse in the area. Yes – we were here before Starbucks!

Family-owned and operated, we bring a hands-on experience from bean to cup. Carefully sourcing our coffee from a myriad of regions near and far around the globe, makes every cup seem like its own travelogue of taste.

Our 23-kilo custom-made roaster is truly a thing of beauty, enabling our Roast Master to produce quality and quantity on a daily basis for our vast clientele, preferring to roast in small batches to ensure optimal peak of flavor. We will never compromise or take short-cuts.

We offer a wide array of roasts and signature blends, including our Arabic Coffee line, (Cafe Alkhal) melding our Syrian heritage to create a glorious cup of the freshest, most flavorful coffee this side of the Mediterranean.
